The $15 an hour minimum wage just won’t be enough — and that isn’t just the opinion of some millennials. The minimum should be about $17.56, according to the 2017 Living Wage Calculation recently released by Niagara Poverty Reduction Network.
Hugo Chesshire, policy and government relations manager for Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce, says whether an employer can afford to pay a living wage or not depends on the business and industry.
