Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce

To ensure that GNCC events uphold these values and are inclusive, welcoming, and productive, we request that all speakers at a GNCC event adhere to our code of conduct. A summary of the code is as follows:

  • Treat all attendees, organizers, and other speakers with respect and courtesy.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor, a positive tone, and refrain from negative comments about others.
  • Adhere to the established guidelines and expectations set forth by the event organizers, including time allotted for a speech or presentation.
  • Refrain from discriminatory or harassing remarks or engaging in behavior that could make others feel uncomfortable or unwelcome.
  • Obtain informed consent before tackling topics or sharing personal stories, anecdotes, or examples that could potentially be sensitive or triggering for some attendees.
  • Consider avoiding sensitive or triggering topics altogether. A suggested list of topics is available in a separate document.
  • Present information that is accurate and factual, and refrain from spreading misinformation and falsehoods.

A more detailed version of this document is also available. You can also download the Speaker Code of Conduct as a PDF document.
