Subcommittee Descriptions

SPEAKERS & EVENTS

Sourcing potential speakers and looking at existing events (WIN and non-WIN events) to work to improve higher engagement and cross-section of women (both on and off stage). This committee will also source recommendations for bestowed awards – Lifetime Achievement Award at WIBA and the International Women’s Day Award.

COMMUNICATIONS

Determine how to leverage social media as a communication tool, and the WIN page on GNCC website. This committee will remain non-partisan and provide educational vantage points and be a source of reference and inspiration for women in business. It will also provide recommendations for resources to post on the WIN page.

ADVOCACY

To fulfill, in part, the mission of the WIN Council, shaping a world of equality, opportunity, and choice. This committee provides advice on advocacy efforts and initiatives that could be taken up by the GNCC. Advocacy includes, but is not limited to: meeting with government or other agencies, letter writing, execution of funded of programs, creating partnerships with organization in Niagara with similar mission.
