$15 minimum won’t meet living wage
The $15 an hour minimum wage just won’t be enough — and that isn’t just the opinion of some millennials. The minimum should be about $17.56, according to the 2017 Living Wage Calculation recently released by Niagara Poverty Reduction Network.
Hugo Chesshire, policy and government relations manager for Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce, says whether an employer can afford to pay a living wage or not depends on the business and industry.
Buffalo Niagara Partnership Announces Job Growth Initiative, Closer Canadian Alliances
The Buffalo Niagara Partnership announcing an initiative to fine-tune job skill development in Western New York and a recently-formed alliance that aims to open doors on both sides of the US-Canada border.
New opportunities will become available on both sides of the border through a recently-formed alliance with the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce and Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce.
Modernizing NAFTA — Come Join Our Campaign!
The Canadian Chamber of Commerce remains optimistic that NAFTA 2.0 could be a huge boost to the economies of North America because there is so much to be gained. However, anti-trade rhetoric and posturing could veer the talks towards trouble.
We need your help. The Canadian Chamber is organizing visits to key U.S. states, to meet local businesses and U.S. political leaders to raise awareness of the benefits of the Canada-U.S. relationship and to point out the risks of damaging it.
