Held every two years and alternating between winter and summer, the Canada Games are a multi-sport competition that features teams from each province and territory competing against each other for medals — much like the Olympics and are widely recognized as the highest level of national competition for thousands of up-and-coming Canadian athletes.
More than 5,000 participants (athletes, coaches, and support staff) from each of Canada’s provinces and territories, along with close to 4,500 volunteers, are expected to participate in the 28th edition of the Canada Games that will be held in the Niagara Region. The 2022 Canada Summer Games will help make the Niagara Region a premier sport tourism destination by significantly enhancing its capacity to deliver future events at an international/national standard as more than four million tourists are expected to travel to Niagara during the Games from August 6-21, 2022
