On behalf of the Board of Directors, Rick Kennedy is pleased to announce that Nancy Garner will be the new Executive Director of Quest Community Health Centre, effective Monday, February 24, 2020.
Prior to joining Quest, Nancy served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes, an organization that provides support and housing to people who are homeless, living with mental illness and addictions in Hamilton and Toronto. Nancy has played a key role in the development of coordinated and integrated services within both geographic areas. She provided overall leadership for the operation of 800 housing units supported by a $24-million operating budget and a team of more than 164 employees including physicians, nurse practitioners and program directors. Her leadership responsibilities also included: a 15-bed community crisis program, community addictions medicine program, addictions supportive housing program, mental health supportive housing program, trusteeship program, occupational therapy arts program and the building maintenance department. Her 25 years of leadership experience includes work within the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care as a mental health and addictions consultant, working as the Executive Director of Eden Community Homes in Toronto as well as serving on the Board of Addictions and Mental Health Ontario.
Nancy was born and raised and currently lives in the Niagara region. As a former graduate of Brock University, she knows St. Catharines and is passionate about serving people in our community. She is experienced in working with vulnerable populations, from direct client service to implementing government policy at a systems planning level. Nancy has dedicated her career to the importance of accessible healthcare and increased quality of life for any community’s most vulnerable citizens. Nancy looks forward to working in collaboration with Quest’s Staff, Clients, Community Partners, Allies and Health Stakeholders across Niagara Region in the pursuit of our vision of “A healthy and engaged community that participates, collaborates, celebrates and grows”.
