What is the nomination process?
- Complete the Nomination Form and submit by pressing the ‘SUBMIT’ button at the bottom of the web page. You can nominate another business, or self-nominate.
Nomination deadline: Friday, March 3, 2017.
- After submission of the Preliminary Nomination Form, nominee will be contacted for more details.
- A Nomination Package will then be sent to the nominee. Full nomination package must be received by 4:30pm on Friday, March 24, 2017.
- Packages will be presented to our independent judging panels to select the finalists.
- Finalists will be contacted by Friday, April 28, 2017. Finalists are announced at our Business After 5 on May 2, 2017.
- Award Recipients are selected by our independent judging panels made up of past NBAA award recipients and leading figures from the business and academic communities.

NIAGARA BUSINESS ACHIEVEMENT AWARD DESIGNATIONS:
Excellence in Business Awards – 3 categories
The Excellence in Business Award recognizes companies that have demonstrated business excellence in their respective fields. Recipients will be exceptional examples of companies that successfully meet the diverse challenges of today’s business environment. There are three categories of recognition, including businesses with: Up to 10 employees; 11-50 Employees; and, 51 employees or more.
Outstanding New Business
The New Business Award recognizes a company that has been in operation for 3 years, or less, that has proven entrepreneurial success and great promise for continued growth.
Young Professional Award
The Young Professional Award recognizes business excellence exemplified by an individual under the age of 40. The successful nominee will have a proven track record of professional success and shows outstanding potential for the future. The professional may be in any field.
Technology and Innovation Award
The Technology and Innovation Award will recognize a business on the cutting edge that is developing and implementing new technologies and innovative products.
Environmental Leadership Award
The award is designed to recognize individuals or groups who have demonstrated a personal commitment to the environment, provided environmental leadership within the institutions in which they work, or have developed, implemented and/or influenced initiatives that show outstanding and innovative managements, financial savings, and operational efficiency. This award will recognize a member company that promotes environmental stewardship. The nominees will be evaluated on the environmental achievements for a particular initiative that demonstrates a commitment to the environment.
Excellence in Tourism Award
The Tourism Award recognizes a business that has shown leadership and innovation in the Canadian tourism industry in order to offer a superior tourism experience. The nominee should be directly involved in the tourism field and an advocate for Niagara’s tourism industry.
International Business Award
The International Business Award will recognize an innovative company or organization that has excelled in foreign market partnerships, clientele or revenue. The award acknowledges businesses of all sizes that have been able to contribute to the Canadian economic market through their endeavours and success on the international stage.
Excellence in Manufacturing
The Excellence in Manufacturing Award is designed to recognize a business of any size that excels in the production of manufactured good(s) in Niagara. This award acknowledges a company that has experienced increased productivity and distribution, implementation of innovative practices and/or is a proven leader in their respective industry.
Business of the Year
The Business of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding organization that has demonstrated entrepreneurial achievement and community leadership. The award acknowledges excellence in business practices combined with a vision for future development. The company may be of any size and within any field.
Nominees must be a member of the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce.
