Niagara Angels Move Offices To Thorold

On May 8, The Niagara Angel Network (NAN) and Venture Niagara announced a shared location that improves access to capital for Niagara’s early stage companies.

As of May 1, the Niagara Angels moved its offices to Venture Niagara, an organization with a 34-year track record of providing loan financing to Niagara businesses. The offices are located at 20 Pine Street North in Thorold – in the beautifully restored Welland Mills – a historic building originally constructed in 1846.

“We are very pleased to be working closely with Venture Niagara and look forward to collaborating in the best interest of Niagara businesses”, said Terry Kadwell, Executive Director of the Niagara Angel Network, a group of accredited investors which provide equity financing to companies primed for growth. “Working at this location will help improve access to deal flow and the types of capital our businesses need.”

Collectively both organizations have invested over $34 million to date, combining expertise, resources and capital to develop the next generation of companies. The new location will help companies access vital streams of capital, while tapping into knowledge and expertise leveraged by both organizations.

“Venture Niagara is always looking at how to provide the best financing solutions for new and expanding companies in Niagara. Having the Niagara Angel Network co-locate with us will make it easier for these businesses to get access to the capital they need,” notes Frank Rupcic, Venture Niagara’s General Manager.

ColdBlock Technologies Inc, a company based in St. Catharines was the catalyst for increased collaboration. ColdBlock’s patented technology is generating sales globally and becoming a force in the mineral analysis industry serving the mining, metals, food and agriculture sectors. Both organizations saw the Niagara company as a potential investee company and world leader.

“As part of our fundraising process, we engaged with both the Niagara Angel Network and Venture Niagara,” stated Nick Kuryluk, ColdBlock Technologies Inc CEO. “We were thrilled with the overall experience as there was excellent leadership, and strong engagement. Co-location is ideal for companies seeking capital.”
