Mayor Sendzik To Deliver Third Annual Address on City’s Future

Walter Sendzik, Mayor of St. Catharines, will address his community at the 2017 State of the City event, the third of its kind, presented by the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce (GNCC).

At this annual event the Mayor provides an update on developments in the city and a look at what’s ahead. In his first two addresses, Mayor Sendzik has shared a unique vision for the future of St. Catharines. With many new developments on the horizon, 2017 is sure to be a remarkable year.

“This event provides us with a unique opportunity to gain insight into what our municipal leaders are planning for our future,” said Ian Kowalchuk, Chair of the GNCC’s Board of Directors and Partner at Merit Contractors Niagara. “St. Catharines has come along way since the start of 2016 and we’re looking forward to hearing what the Mayor has in store for 2017.”

“It’s been an exciting year and there is much more to look forward to in our great city,” said Mayor Sendzik. “We’ve committed to a vision for St. Catharines to be the most dynamic, innovative, sustainable and livable city in North America – an ambitious goal, and I believe it’s within us to achieve. By working together with the business community and creative innovators, we are already putting St. Catharines on the map.”

“It has been very exciting to watch as St. Catharines continuously evolves into a city that celebrates and encourages it’s wonderfully, dynamic population. Our leaders and our community members have shown tremendous initiative in taking those necessary steps that help to improve our city,” said Mishka Balsom, President and CEO of the GNCC.

The State of the City luncheon will take place on January 26, from 11a.m. to 2p.m. at the Meridian Centre, 1 IceDogs Way, St. Catharines.
