Vineland Research receives $23.55M federal and provincial investment
The governments of Canada and Ontario are investing up to $23.55 million through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP) in horticultural research, innovation and commercialization activities, and research infrastructure, all to benefit Ontario farmers and consumers.
“The cutting-edge research that takes place at the Vineland Research and Innovation Centre is keeping us at forefront of innovation here in Canada and around the world,” said Chris Bittle, Member of Parliament for St. Catharines, on behalf of the Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, federal Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food.
New local self-storage facility opens in Welland
MOVABLES, a new Locally Owned & Operated portable storage unit facility, has opened its doors at 120 Federal Road, Welland.
To celebrate the opening, the facility is offering special introductory rates and promotions. Interested customers are encouraged to visit the location or contract the facility for more details.
Swiss marine power company selects Allied Marine for North American representation
Local Port Colborne company Allied Marine & Industrial (AMI) has been selected as the North American Agent to represent Swiss-based marine power provider WinGD. WinGD’s two-stroke engines are fitted into many Canadian owned vessels currently operating in the Great Lakes and worldwide off the east & west coasts of North America.
Changes coming to $500M hotel/condo plan for Vineland Station?
The developer behind a proposed hotel and condominium project at 4933 Victoria Ave. N. in Vineland Station says it is open to further changes to the proposal.
“We’ve heard many comments very loud and clear and we are open to continuing to work with [Town of Lincoln] staff and the community and we’re starting to think about further changes as well that we will make to the project ahead of our resubmission,” said Brandon Donnelly, founder and partner of Toronto-based Globizen Developments.
Niagara Parks to take over operation of WEGO Blue Line
Effective September 3, 2024, Niagara Parks will be taking over the operation of the WEGO Blue Line, continuing to provide visitors and local residents with an integrated visitor transportation system in Niagara Falls.
The announcement was made by Niagara Parks Chair Bob Gale at the Commission’s July 11 public meeting held at the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture.
