Career Opportunity: Executive VP of Operations and Communication

Overview:
The Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce (GNCC) is rapidly modernizing and proud to contribute to the renewal of its community by serving 1,600 members that employ more than 50,000 people in our region. The GNCC’s mission to support the success of businesses and organizations to ensure the long-term prosperity of Niagara.

The Position:
The GNCC is creating a new position of Executive VP of Operations and Communication to secure the functionality of business and to drive extensive and sustainable growth.Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the EVP will be leading the organization’s ongoing operation and marketing activities as well as implementing new business services. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide leadership in client services and value propositions in support of GNCC’s mission
  • Lead the development, implementation, and analysis of communication and marketing strategies
  • Introduce valued business services for clients
  • Advance the organization’s strategic objectives when it comes to engagement with all members of the business community, large and small
  • Monitor emerging industry trends and make strategic recommendations to help GNCC achieve its program and growth goals
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on all marketing and communication related activities deployed through various channels
  • Manage financial and business reports required to monitor the annual operating plan and budget

 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  1. Manages and facilitates the execution of GNCC’s multi-year strategic plan to ensure business incentives, communication and marketing initiatives keep pace with market trends, client demand, economic needs and industry trends
  2. Implements and manages a digital and social media marketing and communication strategy that addresses business needs and delivers high growth goals
  3. Initiates systematic review of programs, services, pricing and marketing to enhance the ROI in a changing marketplace
  4. Ensures GNCC’s services integrate with private businesses, public sector and associations to improve the overall business services provided to organizations
  5. Formulates joint ventures through sponsorship initiatives, partnerships, and reviewing and assessing alternative options to ensure that the business services are rich and valued by members
  6. Manages a performance-focused team and supports the positive interaction between and among employees and clients to cultivate a professional and dynamic organizational culture
  7. Possess strong financial and business acumen to maximize resources and identify revenue enhancement strategies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Communication and/or Marketing
  • 5 plus years of experience in progressive business-to-business sales management, marketing and communication, or advertising agency
  • Proven track record of developing exceptional campaigns, implementing new business services and exceeding financial and operational goals
