2017 Niagara Economic Summit
Tom Rankin has been in the construction and engineering business since 1962 and his firm, Rankin Construction Inc., now undertakes more than one hundred million dollars in heavy civil construction projects a year. Rankin Construction is one of the largest contractors in the Niagara Peninsula, and Tom is also the CEO and founder of Decew Construction and Rankin Renewable Energy.
Rankin has completed more than a dozen renewable energy projects in Ontario, including wind farms and hydro stations across the province. The firm has also worked on sites such as the Niagara Health System’s new hospital, the Bruce Nuclear Station, the QEW, the Welland Canal, and the Queenston Plaza of the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission.
At the Summit, Tom will share his thoughts on the future of renewable energy and infrastructure from the perspective of someone who has spent decades designing and building that infrastructure. His first-hand knowledge will add a practical dimension to the common questions around renewable energy and the building and maintenance of our infrastructure.
