Mandatory random COVID testing resumes at Pearson
Mandatory, random COVID-19 testing for fully vaccinated travellers resumes today at Toronto Pearson Airport.
The testing will be completed either at an in-person appointment at select testing locations or via a virtual appointment for a swab test.
All testing will be completed outside of airports for unvaccinated people as well as those who are fully or partially vaccinated.
Travellers who are not fully vaccinated must test on both the first and eighth days of their mandatory fourteen-day quarantine, unless exempt.
Minister Gould to announce increase to Canada Child Tax Benefit
The Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, Karina Gould, will be in Barrie, Ontario tomorrow morning to highlight the increase of the annual Canada Child Benefit.
Tim Kenyon reappointed as Brock’s Vice-President, Research
Over the past five years, Tim Kenyon’s goal has remained consistent: to provide the supports necessary to help Brock University’s researchers thrive.
Brock’s Vice-President, Research intends to continue building on that foundation as he embarks on his second five-year term in the role, effective Jan. 1, 2023.
“Brock researchers have been doing amazing work for many years. More recently, the University has made real strides in its own attitude toward the prioritization of research,” Kenyon says. “I think what we’ve seen, and what I’ve been very proud to be a part of, is a team effort across campus to place research where it belongs: at the heart of the University’s self-understanding, and its practices and policies.”
Cowen trims some pot companies sales estimates, price targets
Sales forecasts for some of Canada’s biggest cannabis producers were revised lower by one analyst as the pace of sales growth in Canada’s cannabis industry continues to slow down.
Cowen & Co. Analyst Vivien Azer said in a report to clients Tuesday that the 21 per cent growth in industry sales observed in the second quarter of this year declined two percentage points compared to the same quarter a year earlier. That’s seen as a slight improvement from slowdowns in prior quarters and offers a potential sign of stabilization in the Canadian cannabis market despite the hyper-competitive state the industry operates in.
