In response to an advocacy campaign from the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce, Thorold City Council has announced their support for a single transit system to be formed from the St. Catharines, Niagara Falls and Welland transit commissions, and a single farebox. This initiative was identified as the single highest priority at last year’s Niagara Economic Summit, hosted by the GNCC, and the Chamber has been active on the file ever since. We are pleased that Thorold has heard the needs of the business community, students, the marginalized, and its citizens from every walk of life, and that the city’s government is determined to act on their requests. With active and responsive government, anything is possible for Niagara.
