Reminder:
You’re Invited — Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (casl): Is Your Organization Ready for July 1, 2017?

Canada has taken a tough new stance on email spam and the final stage of enforcement is fast approaching. In the months leading up to July 1, 2017, many businesses and individuals are confused about what they need to do in order to bring themselves into compliance. The penalty for CASL non–compliance is up to $1–million for individuals and $10–million for businesses.

In the lead up to July 1, 2017, we will provide key information on the following topics:

  1. CASL compliance best practices, including how to meet the due diligence defence and ensure that your business avoids multi-million dollar fines.
  2. How to bring your email list into compliance with CASL before the 3–year transition period for implied consent expires on July 1, 2017.
  3. Key CASL enforcement decisions and lessons learned.
  4. The impact of the federal government’s June 7, 2017 decision to delay the coming into force of the private right of action (PRA).

This seminar is a must attend if you engage in electronic marketing (including via email, text messaging and social media accounts) to promote your business, products or services.

Led by Moderator David Woolford, Senior Partner at one of Canada’s largest law firms, Miller Thomson LLP, please join Derek A. Lackey, President of the Direct Marketing Association of Canada and Publisher of Blazon.Online and David Schnurr, Partner at Miller Thomson and CASL legal expert, as they discuss the actions your organization should take in the run up to July 1, 2017 and beyond.
