American booze to stay in LCBO, Starlink deal intact as U.S. pauses tariffs
Ontario will pause all retaliatory measures against the United States now that the threat of tariffs has been put on hold for a month, Premier Doug Ford said on Feb. 3.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and U.S. President Donald Trump say the tariffs against Canadian goods that had been expected on Tuesday — 10 per cent on energy and 25 per cent on everything else — are paused for at least 30 days.

Niagara Falls Farmers’ Market seeks local vendors for 2025 Season
The City of Niagara Falls is seeking vendors to participate in the upcoming Niagara Falls Farmers’ Market. The market will be held at the MacBain Community Centre (7150 Montrose Road) every Saturday from May 17 to October 25, 2025, from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The deadline for applications is Saturday, March 15, 2025.

Majority of municipal governments have asset management plans, but feds and provinces fall short
Over half of local and regional government organizations in Canada had asset management plans in place for most of their core public infrastructure, Statistics Canada said in a report issued today. Exceptions were active transportation; public transit; and culture, recreation and sports facilities.
Conversely, most federal, provincial and territorial government organizations did not have asset management plans in place for all nine infrastructure categories.

Jerry Seinfeld to return to Niagara this summer
One of the world’s greatest comics is coming to Niagara Falls this summer. Jerry Seinfeld will return to the OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino on Friday, July 25th.

Insolvencies rose 12.1 per cent in 2024, led by business filings
Insolvencies rose 12.1 per cent last year compared with 2023, with business insolvencies leading the way, up 28.6 per cent.
Construction, transportation and warehousing, and accommodation and food services were the sectors that saw the biggest increases in insolvencies in 2024, according to the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy. Insolvencies include both bankruptcies and proposals.
