Niagara will host a rare live debate this spring as Former Priest now Atheist Dan Barker and Former Muslim now Christian Abdu Murray take the stage for The Anatomy of Purpose, an in-person discussion exploring life’s biggest questions around belief, morality, and meaning.

Dan Barker, a former evangelical preacher turned atheist activist, is co-president of the Freedom From Religion Foundation and a best-selling author whose work challenges religious belief and advocates for secularism. Over the past two decades, Barker has debated leading philosophers and theologians at major institutions including Oxford and Harvard, as well as venues around the world.

Joining him is Abdu Murray, a best-selling author and avid public speaker known for his thoughtful engagement on faith, philosophy, and culture. Murray has likewise debated internationally at universities and forums across the globe, including Oxford and Harvard, engaging audiences with a reasoned defense of faith and purpose.

Bringing two globally recognized thinkers to Niagara offers the local community a rare opportunity to witness a high-level exchange of ideas.

Focus on Health & Safety

A recent review in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health reinforces an important point: getting back to work isn’t the finish line.

How people experience work after they return matters just as much.

Keeping a worker’s voice front and centre in their return-to-work plan is key to helping them truly move forward. The plan needs to be practical, but also human. Because when someone is off work due to an injury, the impact often reaches far beyond the workplace.

When people have a say in how their job supports their recovery, everyone benefits — the worker, their loved ones, their colleagues, and their employer.
