Paper Bag Ball
THE PAPER BAG BALL
… it’s all about filling tummies and filling hearts.
There’s nothing like the feeling of helping others, especially in our own backyard. That was the inspirational thought behind the partnership between Ballet Etc and Community Care, in order to help address some of the most pressing socio-economic issues our community faces today.
On Friday, November 11th, Ballet Etc is hosting the inaugural Paper Bag Ball at Club Italia, in Niagara Falls. Funds will be raised on behalf of Community Care in support of programs designed to help disadvantaged individuals and families meet even their most basic needs.
Jane Elliott, Owner/Director of Ballet Etc. a local dance studio, and a small team of women, are bringing much needed attention to the work performed by the longstanding, non-profit organization so many Niagara residents, young and old, have come to reply upon for food, housing or clothing.
Fund Development Officer, Laura Byers, said third-party events like The Paper Bag Ball are crucial for Community Care: “The timing on this couldn’t be better. We know how important our holiday program is and it’s events like this that help us get to the finish line …. Our success for this year is dependent on the community and key partners like Ballet Etc.”
“The Christmas program”, said Byers, “will help more than 3,000 families.”
Donations for a Silent Auction are welcome. Also, unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items will be collected at the studios in St. Catharines and Fonthill.
Ballet Etc. is currently selling tickets for the fundraising event:
$60 each or $450 for a table of eight.
